His Holiness Shri Shri Nimishananda’s teachings are simple, practical and applicable to everyday living. Central to his teachings are the values of unconditional love, selfless prayer and service, non-violence in thought, word and action; and constant awareness of the higher purpose of human life- which is self actualization.
His Holiness holds regular discourses (satsangs) every Sunday and other special occasions at the temple premises and ashram, avidly attended and followed by hundreds of seekers. Shri Shri Nimishananda’s discourses are by themselves treatises on the lofty tenets of Vedanta delivered in a simple, homely fashion; but being around Him and watching Him conduct Himself with the young, the elderly and his contemporaries (in age) itself is a most rewarding experience. Being with a Guru who walks the talk, His devotees and disciples have known and adapted the value of selfless service; right thoughts, words and action; right prayer and right disposition.
“Be joyful, be happy” says His Holiness, “Don’t take anything too seriously- let your mind free- leave everything to the Divine Mother. When She is protecting you all the time, where is the cause of worry?” He asks with utter simplicity.
Total surrender to the Divine, doing every act with devotion as an offering to the Guru, simplicity in thought and action, unconditional love towards all beings and a happy frame of mind at all times is what Shri Shri Nimishananda His Holiness asks people to develop and practice. “I am in the hearts of those who are always happy” says He disarmingly, reducing the entire complicated equation of life into a simple formula.
“Be in the world, but be centered in your Divine inner being at all times” His Holiness reminds us all.
His Holiness Shri Shri Nimishananda’s discourses on Narada Bhakti Sootras, Kashyapa Sootras and various other satsangs are available as audio versions. He has also authored a number of books, among which is a publication of Kashyapa Sootras, a treatise on the meaning of human life as expressed by the Adi Manava (first human) Sage Kashyapa, in Kannada.
His Holiness Nimishananda also emphasizes the importance of sadhana (spiritual practices), leading to self transformation. His Mission is to give strength to the Iccha Shakti (will power), Kriya Shakti (the power of successful action) and Jnana Shakti (wisdom and awareness) to seekers and aspirants, so that their desires are tempered by wisdom, and fulfilled by the Divine Mother. To this end, His Holiness initiates disciples, according to their disposition, into meditation techniques, mantra japa (chanting a sacred name) and kriyas (breathing techniques). Under His guidance, hundreds of disciples have been following the benchmarks set by Him in achieving spiritual goals, and are experiencing personal and material fulfillment.
